Important information about using Vela safely and responsibly.
1. Agreement to These Terms
By downloading, accessing, or using Vela, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
These Terms govern your personal, non-exclusive, revocable use of Vela and its features.
2. Informational Use Only
Vela is a wellness and self-management tool designed to help you organize patterns, routines, and health-related observations. Vela does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency services.
Nothing in Vela should be used as a substitute for professional medical judgment. Always seek the advice of a licensed physician or other qualified health professional regarding questions about a medical condition, symptoms, medications, supplements, or treatment decisions.
If you think you may have a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency services immediately.
3. Health, Meal, Workout, and Supplement Content
Vela’s meal plans, workout plans, supplement guides, symptom prompts, and care-prep features are general educational tools. They are not individualized medical, nutrition, or exercise prescriptions.
Before starting a new supplement, making a significant diet change, beginning a new exercise routine, or changing treatment, consult your physician or other qualified clinician, especially if you have a medical condition, are pregnant, may become pregnant, or take prescription medication.
You are responsible for deciding whether a plan, suggestion, or routine is appropriate for you.
4. Health App Integration
Health app integration is optional. If you authorize access, Vela may read certain categories of Health data, such as steps, active energy, workouts, recorded sleep, resting heart rate, and walking distance, for use within the app.
Vela reads Health app data on a read-only basis. It does not write workouts, health samples, or other entries back to the Health app.
You may revoke Health app access at any time through the Health app or iOS settings.
5. Subscriptions and Billing
Certain premium features may require a paid subscription. Subscription billing, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and account management are handled by Apple under Apple’s applicable terms and policies.
Unless otherwise stated by Apple, subscriptions automatically renew until canceled through your Apple account settings. Vela does not receive your full payment card information.
6. Local Data and Device Responsibility
Vela is designed to store your app-entered data locally on your device. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and controlling who can access it.
Depending on your Apple device and backup settings, locally stored Vela data may also be included in device backups managed by Apple. Vela does not control Apple’s backup systems.
If you reset the app, delete the app, or remove the device, the copy of Vela data stored on that device may be removed and may not be recoverable unless a device backup still exists.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability
Vela is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vela and its developer disclaim liability for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, and for any decisions made in reliance on the app. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with Vela is to stop using it.
8. Changes and Contact
These Terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of Vela after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
