Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 27, 2026. This policy explains how CleanLabel handles camera access, barcode lookups, local app data, purchases, and support requests.
Overview
CleanLabel is an iOS app from Kinorae that helps shoppers review packaged food signals from barcodes, product data, ingredients, nutrition panels, and personal preferences.
The current app does not require an account and does not include advertising, tracking, or analytics SDKs.
Camera and label scanning
CleanLabel requests camera access so you can scan barcodes and food labels. Camera access is used only for scanning features you choose to use.
Label text recognition is performed on device. Images and scans are not uploaded by CleanLabel and are not stored after scanning.
Barcode and product lookups
When you scan or enter a barcode, CleanLabel may send that barcode over HTTPS to public product database providers, such as Open Food Facts and UPC lookup services, so the app can look up available product data.
Those providers may receive technical request information, such as your IP address, device request metadata, and the barcode being queried. Their handling of those requests is governed by their own policies.
Local app data
CleanLabel stores app data locally on your device, including preferences, profiles, watchlists, scan history, saved products, product edits, and entitlement state.
If you delete the app, locally stored data may be deleted from your device. Because CleanLabel does not use accounts in the current build, support may not be able to recover deleted local scan history.
Purchases and subscriptions
CleanLabel Plus subscriptions are handled by Apple through the App Store. Kinorae does not receive or store your payment card details.
Current subscription products are CleanLabel Plus Annual, product ID com.cleanlabel.app.plus.annual, and CleanLabel Plus Monthly, product ID com.cleanlabel.app.plus.monthly. Pricing may vary by region and is managed by Apple.
Your controls
You can revoke camera access in iOS Settings, delete the app to remove local app data from your device, and manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple account settings.
